Dr. Visit for Baby #2

Yesterday, I went to the dr. office for Baby #2. Let me give you some back up information. I had an appt. in August but I realized that it was on Meet the Teacher Night so I needed to reschedule. When I called, the receptionist told me that the NEXT available appt. was Sept. 22. I told the receptionist that would make 8 weeks between appts for me. That did not sound good to me. But the receptionist scolded me and said the Dr. was very busy and this was the next appt. and I should schedule the rest of my appts. when I come into the office at my next visit. OK. What else could I do? I am not an argumentative person.

Fast forward to yesterday. I got there at 4:30 for my appt. Bryan called and said he just got off work and he was going to meet me. Great! We waited and waited. Finally, a nurse called me back and said Bryan could not come b/c the second waiting room was full. The nurse said she would come and get him when they gave me a room. More waiting......waiting. Finally, a room! But no Bryan. A nurse quickly came in and took my blood pressure and had the doppler. She found the heartbeat and left. I called Bryan using my cell phone and told him to come back to the room.

When the Dr. came in, she asked why I had not been there in 8 weeks? I told her what had happened with rescheduling appt. and what the receptionist had told me and she was livid. She told me that next time to leave her a message and she would straighten it all out. She was very worried that I had not done the quad screen. She made some phone calls and said the last day for the quad screen was 22 weeks, 6 days and I was 22 weeks, 2 days so I just barely made it. Then I told her that Bryan had waited in the waiting room and nobody came and got him so he missed the baby's HB. Dr. personally went fussed at her staff (we could hear her perfectly as she was yelling loudly) and got the doppler and found it again so he could hear it. First time, HB was 146 then 145.

I love my Dr. so much!!!! I cannot stand her office staff and they do a yucky job every time I am there but she is great so I will suffer with her staff.

She scheduled our ultrasound for tomorrow!!! I will say lots of baby girl prayers tonight!!! I don't know how I could handle a Bryan, Jr.
