Visit to Houston

On Tuesday, after a very loooong dentist appointment for Jillian and Rocco (with me chasing Hadleigh around the Dentist's office), we got on the road and headed for a serious play date with the McA family.

In the first hour of the trip, I had to stop 3 times for a diaper blowout, AC issues and lunch but then we got a move on and the kids napped and we arrived at the McA's new house.

Allison has a ton of dress up clothes.  My kids LOVE to dress up.  ALL of the kids were so creative.  They played together for several hours thinking of skits and plays and songs that they performed together.  It was amazing because Amy and I actually got to sit and chat without major interruptions.  WOW!  What a concept!!

Things were just getting going.....

Costume change.....

This is the quartet taking a bow......

Allison really wanted Jillian to "spend the night" in her room.

Here they are getting ready.  Isn't this the sweetest picture ever???   Allison was reading a Barbie goodnight story to everyone.  But eventually I had both Jillian and Rocco in the guest bed with me.  I don't know when my kids will break through this "cling to mommy" phase of sleep.

Amy and Tyler belong to an awesome club that had a spectactular pool with waterfall, grotto, slide, lazy river, beach entrances and a splash pad.  Seriously, everything a kid could need to have some fun!!

Jillian getting ready to go down the slide.

Amy and Aidan

Jillian and Allison just slid down.....

Enjoying the splash pad and waiting to get water dumped on their heads!!!

Hadleigh getting a little splash pad action.

Rocco felt like he was "taking a shower."

With all of serious fun, these four were hungry!!!

Amy did the girls' hair and Jillian looked so pretty!

One night, we walked down to the neighborhood park.

In Houston, this is how you prepare for the park.  Everybody was sprayed down with OFF.  The mosquitos are big and ferocious!!

Allison and Jillian hangin' like monkeys!!

Lots of slides!!

More hanging!!

Peek-a-boo with Hadleigh!!!

Going on a ride with Aidan!!!

We had so much fun with the McA family.  It is just not fair that we live 3 hours apart!!!  When I told Hadleigh it was time to go home, this is how she felt about that....

Thank you Amy and Tyler for hosting me and my three crazy kiddos!!!!

Week in Review (Backwards)

Today was a busy day.  We had a PT evaluation for Hadleigh this morning at 8:30.  After that, we came over to my Mom's house and I swam with Rocco and Jillian for an hour and a half.  When it was time to get out, Grammie said they could help her make cookies and then we would all "rest our eyes."  Mom took Jillian and Rocco inside and picked up around the pool and turned off the music.

I came in and this is what I saw!!  Ha! Ha!!  It was HYSTERICAL!!!
Mom asked me why I was taking a picture and I said, "Uh, because your Grandson is baking naked."  My Mom responds, "Oh, I didn't even notice!"  Ha ha ha!!  I almost peed in my pants it was so funny!!!

On Saturday night, we went to a wedding reception (outside in 100 degree heat) for Bryan's oldest niece.

Since Bryan was working, my Mom helped me get the 3some ready so I could get ready too.

We actually got a family pic!  Not too shabby!!!

There was a little bit of dancing with Daddy and Grandma!

Little hangin' with KK!!

I feel terrible that I did not get one pic of the beautiful bride but this is the beautiful bride's sister, Jenny, so just imagine Leslie looking just as gorgeous but with a long dress on.

Last week, our homework from the OT was for Hadleigh to work on her balance.  A neighbor gave us one of these mini trampolines and Hadleigh was been doing her workouts everyday!!

Last Friday, I was so excited that one of my best friends from the 'ole law school days was coming in town for a CLE and we were going to meet up.  She brought her Mom, her daughter and her nephew.  They stayed at the Westin La Conterra and it had a great pool.  Don't you love it when you see a girlfriend that you haven't seen in a long time (Dec. 2010 to be exact and Shanna that is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too long) and you just pick up where you left off as easy as pie!!!!  I brought the whole family and we swam and swam and swam for several hours and then we took them to a fun Mexican restaurant.  Both of us completely forgot about taking pictures!  As they were leaving I screamed that we needed to take a pic!!  Everyone was water-logged and tired so this is the best we got!!

Payton, Hadleigh, Jillian, Cooper and Roc

And their silly faces!!

I am still cracking up at the first picture!!  I cannot believe my Mom didn't notice he didn't have on any clothes!!  Ha!!

My Mom's At It Again

My Mom's summer project is complete.  I think it is her cutest one yet!!  I love the colors and patterns of the fabrics.  She and Jillian decided to play fashion show and as you can see, Jillian was the model.

Here is a close-up of the hat.  (My Mom has been working on the hat for several weeks.  It was tricky to say the least)

I love the rose buttons she added as a last minute detail.

A button on the hat too!!!  I seriously want her to make me one of these hats!!!

It makes me so sad that I do not have this sewing talent.  Maybe one of these days I will have time to study her!!!!  I say that after every new outfit she makes!!!

Disney Day 5 - Back to the Magic Kingdom

Good Morning!!  Not for everyone!!  We stayed up waaaaaaaaaaaaay too late last night watching the parade and the light show and the fireworks.  This is what the adults felt like when we met at the bus stop at 7:00 am.

And this is what the kids felt like - ready to go!!!

Hauling all of our strollers and bags onto the shuttle bus ONE MORE TIME!!!  We really could NOT have done this without having the extra two pair of hands from Grammie and Poppy!!!

We all used to love Tiger Woods.  Everybody knows Tiger wears red on his last day of the tournament to gather strength and power.  I went with that strategy and we all wore red Mickey/Minnie shirts.  We got the kids shirts at Target and the adults shirts from the Disney Store.

We made it to our reservation at the Crystal Palace and they made us wait!  Grrrrrrr!

So we wait.....

and wait....

and wait and chase.....

Then they call our name.....

Nice family shot without me in it......very hard to get a family shot these days!!!!

Literally as we are getting to our table, a visitor come bouncing to our table!!!
Rocco's favorite!!!  Rocco LOVES the Winnie the Pooh movies and especially loves Tigger!!!

Next the bear himself!!!  Winnie!!!  Rocco loved him!!

They were all so happy!!

Next up...Eeoyre

Finally, little Piglet!!!

Hadleigh got some special attention from Piglet.

We finished breakfast and started our day and as we were crossing a bridge we ran into Peter Pan!!!

He was looking for Captain Hook!!

Then we went up some stairs to go around Cinderella's castle and we ran into her mean ugly stepsisters!!!
Rocco did NOT like them!!!  See how Mom is trying to push him up for a picture.  Ha ha !!

He agreed for a picture but said he would not smile!!!

Next a carousel ride.  Jillian kept asking when the horses would fly off like in Mary Poppins!!!

Big girl!!

They all tried to pull the sword but no such luck!!!

This morning we all rode some of the classics.  First up was It's a Small World.
Such a sweet ride.

We headed towards Frontier Land and rode with some pirates.

Afterwards everybody got swords and hooks which was a big hit!!

Summer was obsessed with the street party so we went back for Round 2!!!

Everybody had so much fun with lots of running around and dancing but do you notice the sky?  Getting very dark??  Like it is going to rain???

We ran over quickly and stood in line for 30-45 minutes to meet Princess Tiana!!

I love this picture.  A princess knows when she meets another princess!!!

Then we all joined in the fun!!!  Tiana complimented our red attire!!

We went back to Frontier Land and Summer elected to stay with the babies (Hadleigh was asleep) while the rest of us use our FASTPASSES to ride Thunder Mountain.  We were three people from the front of the line when they shut it down because of lightening.  So we waited..........Then the skies opened and poured and poured and poured.  Oh no!!!  What about Summer??  What about the babies????     Poor Summer and the babies  -  they were soaked and crying!!!
Out came the ponchos!!!

We waited and we waited.  We bought hot dogs.  But it was still raining.  We finally gave up and said let's go back to the hotel.

The kids were tired.

Very, very tired!!!

We had every intention of coming back to Magic Kingdom for the night activities.  It did stop raining for a little while but we just plain ran out of gas.  I am so glad we stayed the night before but I wanted to see it again but we just couldn't get the energy up for going out one more time!!!  Oh well!  Next time!!!

We had a fabulous time on our first trip to Disney World!!!!  Hopefully more to come!!!!!
