Saturday Night Lights

On Saturday night, we went to see cousin Brandon play some varsity football!! He did AWESOME!!! He is so enormous - in the good football kind of way!!!!
Here he is #74 (well, the back of him anyways)

Rocco was picking up pointers from the team so he can be ready in about 16 years....

Here is Jillian with cousin Leslie and Aunt Lisa....She loves the cheerleaders!! She did a super job yelling Go!! Go Brandon!! (Where could she get that from??)

Amy, I swear I just looked at your blog - I swear we are somehow related on some cosmic level. We always are up to the same things....or doing the same things...or wearing the same things. Too funny!!!

Bye Bye Wally World

As most of you know, in my quest to save a dollar or two, I usually shop the deals at Wally World.

But with my employee discount card that Bryan just scored us, there is a new era in the P household!!!

Think of all of the money I am going to save using my discount card AND my coupons!!! That's right - H-E-B takes both!!! I am so seriously happy right now!!!!

Also in my quest to save a dollar or two, my mom and I planted fall tomatoes!! I was so excited to show Jillian how to grow things and all of that....well, the 100+ days that we were still having in late August and early September really messed things up. Well, that's my excuse anyways....

Here is my ONE cherry tomato...

Here is my TWO regular tomatoes....

But I still beat my Mom. She has ZERO tomatoes!! ha ha!!

Trip to Devine

Here they are....the best shot of the day. Jillian HAD to hold Rocco's hand (which of course is super sweet and loving) but.....Rocco was not exactly interested!!

Last Saturday we drove down to Devine for some fun at Devine Acres. There is always so much to do here.

We met up with my parents, Bill and Summer, the boys and Katie. We also met up with my cousin Kim and her two kids, Allison and Wyatt.

They love fishing and caught several fish from the pond. Jillian loved throwing the corn into the pond b/c the water was so clear that you could see the minnows eating up all of the corn.

My favorite part is panning for "gold." This year, the girls found lots of beautiful colored rocks. The boys found some very cool arrowheads!!

More pumpkin pictures. Jillian really wanted to be Wyatt's friend and wanted to sit next to him but Wyatt had other ideas. This was as close as he would let her sit next to him.

The weather was gorgeous!! My parents look great but I couldn't get the kids to cooperate!!

I can hear you now!! You look just like your mother!! I mean really, I wish I got a $1.00 for everytime I have heard that and I could probably pay for college for Jillian AND Rocco!!! (Bryan had to work this year and was bummed he missed out.)

Here are most of the cousins...from left to right.....Wyatt, Allison, Jillian, Katie, Gavin and Rocco. Roy was too busy fishing to be bothered with a hayride.

We love Devine Acres!! Such a great fun place for toddlers to young children (and the young at heart!!

More Dr. Visits

The verdict is in and poor Rocco has a sinus infection with yucky green goo coming out of his eyes.

This weekend, his fever and snotty eyes did not stop Mommy from conducting his 9 month photo shoot (really, let's be honest, not much will stop the Mommy when she wants something!!)

So here he is looking ooooohh so grown up in his jeans!!

Jillian was refusing to be left out of the photo shoot. She ran and got her matching hat and struck a pose. Seriously, doesn't she look like she is about to plot something??

She really wanted to pose with Rocco but he just wasn't having it!!

Finally, long story short, I never posted pictures of R-man in his christening gown because I somehow LOST ALL OF THE PHOTOS. I about died. I don't know what happened to them. They had to be on the computer at some point b/c I uploaded them to tinyprints.com to make the invitation. But can I find them anywhere???? NO!!! So I had to have another photo shoot. Being that Rocco had already done it once, he was really not cooperating with me. But at least you can see the beautiful outfit....

So anyways, I have so much to blog about and tell ya'll but really, I am SWAMPED at school. Just swamped!! I have got to go get some work done but I will be back!!!

9 months old

On Thursday, Rocco celebrated turning 9 months old with a trip to the doctor. It was just a normal 9 month check up but we waited and waited and waited. Over an hour, we waited to see the doctor and finally saw the doc, got a clean bill of health and had a flu shot thrown in for good measure.

9 months stats:

Weight: 21 lbs 2 ozs (75 percentile)

Height: 29 1/2 inches (85 percentile)

HC: something really big that put him in 85 percentile

Well, flash forward 24 hours to Friday and the daycare calls and Rocco has a fever. M & D go pick him up and he has been sick ever since. Poor little thing! He has had a fever ever since the visit. We can't seem to break it. I don't know if this is all due to the flu shot or if he picked up a bug in the doc's office. Since we were there for OVER AN HOUR WAITING, I am inclined to think he picked something up. Oh yea, he also has snot coming out of his eyes which I am assuming is pink eye.....and now Jillian's eyes are clouding up too.

So guess where I am going tomorrow??? But this time, we are wearing a mask and gloves!!!

Otherwise, Rocco is such a joy at 9 months. He is crawling everywhere, pulling up on anything that doesn't move and walking along while holding on to things. He has been drooling small lakes but seems to be stuck at 7 teeth.

His hair is turning blonder and blonder and has soft curls in the back and by his ears. He has a really sweet disposition. Lots of people will ask me, "Does he ever cry or fuss?" Well, he does sometimes (usually when Jillian has a blanket draped over his head and she is ordering him to go night, night) but for the most part, he is a pretty happy-go-lucky baby.

I cannot believe we are on the home stretch to 1 year old. These next several months will race by with holidays and my little baby won't be so little anymore.

Moving Up

Last night, Jillian graduated from making muffins to making pizza. She did a pretty good job other than our pizza did not have a lot of cheese on it. That is because Jillian ate most of the cheese before it reached the pizza. She then got too full on cheese to eat the pizza but Mommy and Daddy enjoyed it!!
Here she is with her latest masterpiece:

What else is going on? We are trying to get everyone well around our house. Jillian had a terrible, awful, painful UTI, but now we are on a second medication and she is doing much better. Because she is allergic to several medications, we have to be very careful what we give her. Now she is on an adult capsule that we have to break open and somehow hide it in drinks/food to get her to take it.

I have not been feeling well either with some mysterious ailment. I sprayed myself with Windex and went to bed early for the past two nights and I am feeling sort of better. With 18 parent/teacher conferences scheduled for this week, it really doesn't matter what I have, I am going to work. I need to buy some more Windex so I can make it the rest of the week.

Last part:

Last night, this is our conversation:

Jillian: What are those on Rocco?

Mommy: Well, Rocco has boobies too.

Jillian: He has little boobies.

Mommy: Well, yes, he is a baby.

Jillian: I have little boobies too.

Mommy: You're right.

Jillian: Mommy, you have biiiig boobies! (Yes, she did give emphasis to the big)

Mommy: Thanks dear. I guess???

Yes, my every changing body is now subject of talk for my 2 year old. Again, that is whole 'nother post all together.

Stock

As a mom, there are certain things you buy over and over again. It actually started with my mom. Growing up, my mom had Cheeri0s for breakfast every single day. I followed suit and had Cheeri0s for breakfast every single day.
And now that tradition has been passed down to Jillian although Jillian does not like her Cheeri0s with milk. She also likes to use a very big spoon because that's funny. She will eat Cheeri0s morning, noon and night if we let her.

And now the newest member of the Cheerio club.......

So really with all of these Cheeri0 lovers, I should own stock in Cheeri0s!!!!! I should own stock in P@mpers and Huggies but that is for another post!!!

H-town

Last weekend, the kids and I took a fun trip to Houston to visit our favorite H-town residents. It was Allison's birthday and we have been ready for this Fancy Nancy party for months.

BUT we didn't plan on the rain!!! It rained almost the whole way there!! Thankfully, the kids were perfect angels in the car and slept most of the way. (Please don't lecture me as I am taking pictures as I am driving!!)

We got there safely and let the fun begin.....at a gymnastics facility that was one of the coolest I have ever seen.

Jillian launching herself into a foam pit.

Allison jumped next and there was a whole lot of giggling in the pit!!!

Rocco really wanted in on all of the fun!!!

There he goes!! As I was taking this picture, I didn't realize how close in fact Rocco was to the pit - and you know what happened next?? He fell in!! It was so hysterical!!! He seemed to think it was funny too!!

Allison slid down the slide....

and Jillian followed....

Another slide..

Jillian swung on a rope...

Then we must eat cake!!!

At home, all of the kids played together.....

Aidan and Rocco eating a puzzle....

Allison and Jillian chasing each other...

Rocco got some new cooooool sunglasses!!!

One group shot....

Thanks so much Amy, Tyler, Allison and Aidan for having us over!!!! It so fun to have friends like you!!!
