Weekend on my own

Bryan has a new job. No more FedEx. He is now working for HEB. He is really excited about his new job but there is one slight drawback - weekends are no longer a no work zone. So this weekend he had to work on both Saturday and Sunday leaving Mommy on her own with the kids. Ahhhhhhh!!!

No really they were quite good!!

I have a new helper with the dishes!! I am training him early. He is pulling up everywhere!!

We were busy playing with all of the toys in the playroom.

Isn't it great? The happiness that a rattle can bring someone!! Hee hee!! Look at all of those teeth!!

On Sunday, we went over to Grammie and Poppy's house. The weather was perfect outside for a little swinging.

Jillian is very into finding acorns. This one still had the stem on it and she thought that was very cool.

A Year Ago

Last September, we were told (actually we could clearly see the evidence on the screen ourselves) that we were having a boy!!

If you read this blog, you knew that this information rocked my world!!! How could I have a boy?? I was meant to the be the mommy of girls with big bows and dolls and tea parties.

Well, what was I thinking?? Rocco is the cutest thing ever!!! And I have found out about myself that I can do boys!! Nothing to it!! Hee hee!!

Jillian needed glasses to see the ultrasound pictures!! She couldn't believe she was going to have a baby brother either???

But you know Bryan, always has a great attitude about everything!!! He heard we were having a boy and the smile wouldn't leave his face for weeks!!

Crawler

Yesterday it was official. Rocco has the "crawl" down. He was all around the playroom chasing Bryan's phone. This video is a little boring but you get the picture.....

This next one brings a smile to my face because you can see into the future at how fun Jillian and Rocco are going to be together. He thinks she is the funniest thing. Well, don't we all think she is the funniest thing??

Can you hear what happened at the very end of the video?? Jillian tooted. Hee hee.....she is learning to say excuse me!!

Teeth 6 AND 7

I obviously needed a V8 on Wednesday. Rocco was having a terrible time nursing and I was suffering. He was biting and Mommy was very upset and hurt (you know, physically).

Well, duh!! Never forget that my children are teeth freaks!!!! As I reached into his mouth yesterday and realized two more teeth had broken through, it all came together. Poor thing, his teeth were really bothering him. So now he has 4 teeth on the top and 3 on the bottom. And now he is medicated, so doing a little better!

Glad it is Friday!!! I was looking back for a vintage picture to add for today. In September 2007, I did not take many pictures so there is not a lot to choose from.

This is Jilli-poo at 8 months. She is wearing one of my favorites dresses. I love that big collar! She was also in a stage of crinkling that nose when she smiled. Such a funny girl!! Still is!!

8 months old

Just writing 8 is breaking my heart!! 8 is way closer to 12 than I want to think about!


Rocco baby is so much fun!! He has the best big tooth grin! His hair is starting to curl!! He is starting to wear 18 month clothes! He is such a big baby - weight and height and head! Honestly, it really is difficult to hold him for any long stretches of time.


Let me tell you about the fact that is a broken record....
he still won't drink from a bottle. I am going to give up soon. The daycare offers him one bottle a day but he always refuses. I don't know why I have them keep offering. I think it is the principle.




I already told ya'll that is he is "almost there" with the crawling. That is where he still is at! No actual crawling. BUT he is starting to pull up! Jillian was like that too. Crawling was never a big deal! She just moved on to pulling up and walking. It seems like he is following the same path!

Hoppy Friday!!

We did better!

We celebrated the Labor Day weekend with family in Port Aransas! Since the weather was only a mere 93 degrees instead of 103 and because Summer and Bill bought another air conditioning unit, the trip went a lot smoother!!!

Jillian had on her shades and she was ready to go!!

On Saturday, Bryan went with Bill, Sum, my dad, Roy and Gavin out to fish. Even though it was 5 to 1, Summer caught the most fish!! She caught a red, a trout, a flounder and some other stuff. Dad caught a trout and poor Bryan got one little perch. He'll do better next time!

While they were away, Mom and I played with the kids. Watchout Major League Baseball!!! There is a new kid in town!! And she makes it look good!!

The brothers cooked our hamburgers Saturday night! They were yummy!!!

Rocco hair is starting to curl. Jillian's hair was always a straight as an arrow so this is something new. Add in the coast's humidity and Rocco's hair was crazy this weekend!!!

There is no bathtub at the cabin only a shower (which Miss J will not do) so baths in the sinks!! Rocco had a ball!!

We had a great day playing at the beach. The water was super clear and there was no seaweed. Perfect!! We built sand castles and caught little fish, hermit crabs, and sea snails!!

Still Alive

Hi!! I am swamped!! With everything! School, kids, home, church, life, etc...... No time for blogging!!

My daughter is already very politically-minded. Whenever we leave somewhere, instead of saying goodbye (like an average 2 year old might), she yells, "Peace in the middle east!!!"

So in honor of peace, I got Jillian and Rocco the most adorable jammies ever!!! I just love children's place jammies.

Jillian was all for posing and Rocco really wanted nothing to do with posing and just wanted to go to bed!!!

Doesn't he look happy?? wink, wink. (I bought him 18 months but sad to say, they are a little snug. I probably should have bought 24 months just so they would last longer. Geez!!!)

We are beach-bound for the holiday weekend!! I can hear your question - didn't you already try that this summer and it didn't work?? Yea - we are glutten for punishment. We'll see how it goes!!
