Point #1 - Rocco has decided 4:45 a.m. is the right time to start his day.
Point #2 - Mommy is getting very tired with all of this early rising.
Point #3 - Rocco wakes up Jillian b/c he cannot find our room at night and needs directions and therefore Jillian is also suffering under Point #2.
For several weeks, Rocco has been screaming/throwing hysterical fits at bed time and in the morning. He would start screaming around 4:45 a.m. and scream until I would go get him. So Bryan and I started tinkering with all of the factors.....I tried putting him down earlier and then later, I tried drugs, I tried letting him take more things to bed.....but nothing has worked thus far!!! He is still waking at 4:45.
Well, then I was negotiating one night and suggested he be a "big boy" and sleep in the blue bed in Jillian's room. Well, my big boy has never looked back. Last night was his 5th night in a row in the big blue bed.

Did I mention Rocco's fetish of bringing "everything" to bed??? The list includes the obvious - his lovey, his stuffed animals, baby dolls. It also includes his medicine which he refused to let go and put on the night stand. He will also sleep with several books but I could not get a picture.

He has two books hidden under the baby doll.

Jillian has LOVED having Rocco in her room at night and every morning as soon as she wakes up, she asks "Can Rocco spend the night tonight??"

She also has a long list of requirements to be with her at night - her lovey, special J blanket, pink baby and chunky monkey.

Bed time is a dream. Both get all their gear, get into bed, Bryan reads several books and they go to bed. There is no crying, screaming or arguing. Also there is no playing. I go back in within minutes to check on them and both are asleep so..........
WHY IS ROCCO STILL WAKING UP AT 4:45 A.M???? I will pay someone to figure it out for me. The good news is.....he is not crying when he wakes up anymore. I can't handle crying fits at 4:45. He generally has been waking up in a very good mood ready to start his day.
At this point in my pregnancy, I would have put money on blaming B3 for no sleep. I would have lost the bet. My #1 sleeper has sunk to last place. Such tragedy!!!!

Oh man, I can't imagine. But it certainly puts it in perspective for me when I was complaining about M waking up at 6:45 last week because we've gotten used to her sleeping into the seven o'clock hour.
At least you've tackled part of the battle, right? Here's hoping he starts sleeping later VERY soon!
