Five on Rocco

My sweet precious boy is 5 years old!!!  Seriously, how can that be?  I look at him and I see no hint of baby, toddler, or preschooler.  Rocco is straight up boy!!

1.  The boy has no teeth!!  He lost his first tooth a couple of weeks ago and his other bottom tooth is literally hanging on by a thread.  So with his surgery he will be missing all 4 front teeth!!  Don't feel bad for him.  He eats like a horse anyways!!!

2.   This is the face Rocco usually has on.  He thinks he is Mr. Funnyman.  He will look into my eyes and tell me I am so beautiful and in the same breath, then turn around, shake his bootie and make farting noises.

3.  This is the other face he makes all the time.  This is the face he makes when he gets caught but still thinks he is Mr. Funnyman.

4.  The boy can have attitude.  He does NOT like to be told no.  He will usually throw a fit or whine for hours until I relent and let him have it.  He is nothing less that completely persistent.

5.  Rocco has an obsessive personality.  He is obsessed with being a teacher.  He is obsessed with all things teachers use like school supplies and calendars and flashcards.  He obsessed with being a lifeguard.  He loves nametags.  He loves those stretchy name clips.  He loves lanyards.

I am super excited that Rocco is 5.  He will be coming with me to school in 8 short months!!!

Ice-pocolypse 2014

Pictures are back working!!  Yay!!  So Friday we got to stay home for an Ice Day!!!
San Antonio totally shut down for icy roads.

We had so much fun!  Can you see the tiny icicles?  J, R and H had fun finding icicles and then eating them.

Then they broke all the ice on the trampoline and other outside play equipment.  We walked down to a neighbor's house for lunch.  The mommies got to socialize and the kids played upstairs!  Win!!

Can you see it?  Can you see the ice on trees?  I love SA and our total over-reaction to everything under 32 degrees!!!!

Seven

Jillian turned seven!  SEVEN!!!

1.  She is a skipper.  She never walks.  Ever!  She will jump, glide, skip, hop, leap but never walk.

2.  Her favorite meal is chip, cheese and beans BUT do not call it nachos.  She dips her chip into the beans and then sprinkles cheese on top.  She loves broccolli and will heat up a bag in the microwave and it the broccolli as her snack.

3.  I asked her if she could go anywhere in the world this year, where would she go?  She said Disneyworld and the beach!  Lucky for her, we are going to both those places this year!

4.  She has started reading a new series of books called Rainbow Magic.  Her favorite fairy is Ruby (cuz it looks just like her!)

5.  She loves her teacher.  Her favorite subject is math.  Her favorite special area is going to the library.  She loves books about fairy tales.

6.  She loves playing with her dolls.  Her favorite doll is named Ruby.  (see #4 the name is a theme)She likes to do that by herself.  She doesn't like Rocco or Hadleigh to mess with her dolls.

7.  Her favorite show on TV is Austin and Ally.  Her favorite movie is Frozen!  She also has started watching the Star Wars series and she loves talking about Luke Skywalker, Hans and of course Princess Leia.

I cannot believe she is seven.  Most of the time, she is a super sweet and kind young lady.  Sometimes she can give us attitude especially in the mornings getting ready for school!!

Funny stories.....

I want to write down some funny things that have happened lately so I don't forget!!

1.  Jillian and Rocco have been fighting a lot lately.  Not bad but just rough-housing and tattling and so forth.  One time I looked over and I saw Jillian smack Rocco. So I naturally told her to go sit on her bed for a time-out (which she HATES).  She turned to me with tears in her eyes and the most DRAMATIC face and yelled at me "Mom, you don't know what its like being a kid!"  Ha ha!  It was so funny.

2.  The other night Hadleigh threw a toy at Rocco and it hit him right in the face and cut him under the eye (she's got quite the arm).  I made him an ice pack but it wasn't good enough because it was leaking.  He really wanted a bag of frozen peas or broccolli but I didn't have any.  So the only thing to give was a pack of hot dogs.  So he put that big thing of hot dogs on his face to help the boo-boo.  I go back to making dinner.  A few minutes later I hear the girls just laughing and laughing.  Rocco has put the frozen hot dogs in his UNDERWEAR and is dancing around the room in his full glory!!!!  He was so proud of himself for thinking of that!!!

3.  Hadleigh is just funny.  She has a baby named Lincoln.  She brings that thing everywhere.  She is in that stage where she says, "Mommy, what are you doing?"  If you don't answer, she will ask again and again and again.  She has started to say things correctly and I HATE THAT.  She is no longer called Rocco "Do-Do" but by his name.  She took the test for speech in our school district and she did not qualify!  The examiner said she is doing awesome and it wasn't even close!!

2014 I am here

So I can't seem to upload any pictures.  I have tried from several different computers and I can't figure it out so the whole situation is back to annoying!!!

But I am here.  I survived Christmas!!  and New Years!!  I am back at work!!!

You would think that now that my oldest has turned SEVEN that we would be over the whole Disney princess thing.  But noooooooooooooo!!!  Thanks to Frozen (we have seen it twice) all of my kids are singing and dancing with the princesses.  Jillian and Hadleigh got Elsa and Anna dolls for Christmas and they all fight over Elsa because she is prettier and has the sparkle cape.

Actually if truth be told, I can belt out a serious rendition of Let it go!!

Little Mini Steals the Show

Jillian had her fall showcase of dance skills on Friday night.  She started with tap.

Then moved on to ballet.  They are working on the beginning stages of right, left and middle splits and all that stretching made Daddy very uncomfortable!!  Ha!!

And while Jillian did wonderful (like she always does), the spotlight shifted to her little sister.  Hadleigh watched dance practice with awe and wonder.  She wants to do EVERYTHING big sister does!!

Here she is practicing her dance moves...

Jillian won the award for Best Attitude!!

Christmas in the 50s!!

Last night was our annual Wiederstein holiday program and the 1st graders were rocking in the 50s!!  They were all dressed sooo cute!!  The girls in their poodle skirts and the boys with slicked back hair and high tops!!  This is Jillian's class right before the curtain opened......

We are so blessed that Jillian has the sweetest group of girl friends.  Jillian with Emma and Kaiya.  She also loves Divina (in the glasses behind her) and Kleopatra (yes that is her real name) in the black and pink bow.

The whole group.......

The performance was so adorable.  Jillian is quite the showman.  She makes me laugh.

Jillian earned a speaking roll in this song!

The grand finale!!

It was a very fun evening!!
