My Olympic Opinions

As I was writing this post, I didn't realize how many opinions I have about the Olympics but someone needs (desperately needs) to put me in charge of the American Olympics Team.

First of all, I am so tired of hearing how great Opening Ceremonies was.  Really?  What was so great?  Please name one thing that was slightly entertaining?  BORING!!!!  Yawn!!

Even the Queen thought it was dull.  I mean, can she not even remotely crack a smile?  The announcers kept saying she has a keen sense of humor.  Really?  I don't believe them.  AND the day after Opening Ceremonies she left London for Balmoral Castle (in Scotland).  What is that???  She can't stick around and support her country??  The games are only bringing her country billions of dollars in revenues.  She could be a little grateful???  The whole thing is weird!!!!

Then the Americans at Opening Ceremonies.  Besides the whole "Made in China" scandal, what was Ralph Lauren thinking??  The athletes are wearing BERETS which people wear in FRANCE.  And I'm sorry did I miss that this is the winter Olympics?  They look ready to sit in front of a fireplace and read a book.  This is the OLYMPICS!!!  Someone needs to tell RL that this is a sporting event and should design clothes accordingly.  Geez!!!

Next, the women's gymnastics team....Hello?  Someone please explain why they are wearing PURPLE????  While they are beautiful leotards are country's colors are RED, WHITE AND BLUE.  Not Barney the Dinosaur purple!!!!!  AND this is 2012, who is making these girls wear scrunchies??????  NO ONE on the planet wears scrunchies anymore!!!!

AND just so you don't think that I am ALL negative today, these leotards are beautiful and I approve.

BUT who designed these RIDICULOUS jackets that they wore on the podium??????  I will reiterate for the idiots who designed these jackets - USA = red, white and blue.  These are hideous.  My Dad said they looked liked Chinese workers in a rice field.  All they were missing is the little hats.  He couldn't have said it better!!!!

I wasn't even gonna go there.  BUT I seem to be on a rant!!

Can we even call this gymnastics????

There is no crying in gymnastics!!!!  So embarrassing to our country!!!  (I wish they were the ones wearing gray and maybe mistaken for some other country.)

Here is a piece of awesomeness.  Destinee (two ees) Hooker.  Doesn't that name rock as the best porn star name ever?  She is from San Antonio and the University of Texas and I have no doubt this power house will bring home the gold.  She is soooooooooooooooooooo awesome!!!!

Let's talk water polo.  I don't know what this sport is but while their outfits look harmless on top, have you seen the bottoms of their bathing suits?  They are so revealing I would not put it on my blog.  Again, who is in charge of making these outfits?  What idiot suggested let's put our water polo team in thongs?  AND what team of designers said great idea, let's do it??

As for the main talk of 2012 London, I don't have a lot to say.
Both great swimmers.
One is hot, one is not.
One wears grillz, the other does not.
I am not sure which is worse.

Finally, let me leave you with this CUTE video.  Jillian and Rocco have watched it at least 500 times.
Jillian even said that this song may now be her favorite.  This would replace Katy Perry's Firework after two long years.

Warning:  this song will be in your head the rest of the day!!!

Visit to Houston

On Tuesday, after a very loooong dentist appointment for Jillian and Rocco (with me chasing Hadleigh around the Dentist's office), we got on the road and headed for a serious play date with the McA family.

In the first hour of the trip, I had to stop 3 times for a diaper blowout, AC issues and lunch but then we got a move on and the kids napped and we arrived at the McA's new house.

Allison has a ton of dress up clothes.  My kids LOVE to dress up.  ALL of the kids were so creative.  They played together for several hours thinking of skits and plays and songs that they performed together.  It was amazing because Amy and I actually got to sit and chat without major interruptions.  WOW!  What a concept!!

Things were just getting going.....

Costume change.....

This is the quartet taking a bow......

Allison really wanted Jillian to "spend the night" in her room.

Here they are getting ready.  Isn't this the sweetest picture ever???   Allison was reading a Barbie goodnight story to everyone.  But eventually I had both Jillian and Rocco in the guest bed with me.  I don't know when my kids will break through this "cling to mommy" phase of sleep.

Amy and Tyler belong to an awesome club that had a spectactular pool with waterfall, grotto, slide, lazy river, beach entrances and a splash pad.  Seriously, everything a kid could need to have some fun!!

Jillian getting ready to go down the slide.

Amy and Aidan

Jillian and Allison just slid down.....

Enjoying the splash pad and waiting to get water dumped on their heads!!!

Hadleigh getting a little splash pad action.

Rocco felt like he was "taking a shower."

With all of serious fun, these four were hungry!!!

Amy did the girls' hair and Jillian looked so pretty!

One night, we walked down to the neighborhood park.

In Houston, this is how you prepare for the park.  Everybody was sprayed down with OFF.  The mosquitos are big and ferocious!!

Allison and Jillian hangin' like monkeys!!

Lots of slides!!

More hanging!!

Peek-a-boo with Hadleigh!!!

Going on a ride with Aidan!!!

We had so much fun with the McA family.  It is just not fair that we live 3 hours apart!!!  When I told Hadleigh it was time to go home, this is how she felt about that....

Thank you Amy and Tyler for hosting me and my three crazy kiddos!!!!

Week in Review (Backwards)

Today was a busy day.  We had a PT evaluation for Hadleigh this morning at 8:30.  After that, we came over to my Mom's house and I swam with Rocco and Jillian for an hour and a half.  When it was time to get out, Grammie said they could help her make cookies and then we would all "rest our eyes."  Mom took Jillian and Rocco inside and picked up around the pool and turned off the music.

I came in and this is what I saw!!  Ha! Ha!!  It was HYSTERICAL!!!
Mom asked me why I was taking a picture and I said, "Uh, because your Grandson is baking naked."  My Mom responds, "Oh, I didn't even notice!"  Ha ha ha!!  I almost peed in my pants it was so funny!!!

On Saturday night, we went to a wedding reception (outside in 100 degree heat) for Bryan's oldest niece.

Since Bryan was working, my Mom helped me get the 3some ready so I could get ready too.

We actually got a family pic!  Not too shabby!!!

There was a little bit of dancing with Daddy and Grandma!

Little hangin' with KK!!

I feel terrible that I did not get one pic of the beautiful bride but this is the beautiful bride's sister, Jenny, so just imagine Leslie looking just as gorgeous but with a long dress on.

Last week, our homework from the OT was for Hadleigh to work on her balance.  A neighbor gave us one of these mini trampolines and Hadleigh was been doing her workouts everyday!!

Last Friday, I was so excited that one of my best friends from the 'ole law school days was coming in town for a CLE and we were going to meet up.  She brought her Mom, her daughter and her nephew.  They stayed at the Westin La Conterra and it had a great pool.  Don't you love it when you see a girlfriend that you haven't seen in a long time (Dec. 2010 to be exact and Shanna that is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too long) and you just pick up where you left off as easy as pie!!!!  I brought the whole family and we swam and swam and swam for several hours and then we took them to a fun Mexican restaurant.  Both of us completely forgot about taking pictures!  As they were leaving I screamed that we needed to take a pic!!  Everyone was water-logged and tired so this is the best we got!!

Payton, Hadleigh, Jillian, Cooper and Roc

And their silly faces!!

I am still cracking up at the first picture!!  I cannot believe my Mom didn't notice he didn't have on any clothes!!  Ha!!
