Summer Vacation Recap

At the end of July, our family, my parents and my sister and her boyfriend flew to Tampa, Florida. This was Jillian's second flying experience and it went just as great as the first one. She read books and slept and was an angel. We had so much fun in Florida even though it rained every single day. On the first night, we settled into our condo and enjoyed the beach and the sunset. Jillian was having a good time.

Did I mention the rain? Despite the rain, Bryan, my dad, my sister and her boyfriend enjoyed the Florida golf.

While everybody else was golfing, Mom and I took Jillian on her first ferry ride to Shell Island. We loved it. There were only a few people on the island and we found sand dollars and huge conch shells. There is nothing cuter than Jillian in her yellow polka dot bikini and her sun hat!

Our favorite place we visited was Pass-a-Grille beach. There was no crowds. It stopped raining for a moment. The sun was out. It was heaven. The whole family had a blast and Jillian loved chasing the birds.

We also loved Caledesi Island. Unfortunately, it rained on our parade and we had to leave early. Here is Jillian with her two favorite men.

Our last Florida sunset! We loved our visit but next time, we won't go during the rainy season.

The floors are done!

After three weeks of sleeping on the floor in the living room, Bryan finally finished the floors in the master bedroom. Hooray! I only had to threaten divorce three times and then get out the phone book, but he finally did it. I thanked him, my neck thanked him and my back thanked him.

First time for pigtails

I know it doesn't look great but I finally did it. She finally sat still long enough for me to wrestle her hair into pigtails. Isn't she a doll?

She refused to smile but she is still cute!

She decided she would hug Gizmo even with the new do.

Off and running

After years of just reading blogs, I finally decided to start my own. I am having trouble adding all of the frills, pictures, tickers and such so bear with me as this is a work in progress. I did survive teaching my second day of school and so that is reason enough to celebrate today.
