4th of July Parade

How un-American are we?   We have never been to a 4th of July parade!!!!  So this year, I was bound and determined to go to a parade!!!

We got on our red, white and blue and headed out for adventure!!!

We brought flags and chairs and were ready to go!!!

Here we go!!!  Here come the motorcycles!!!

It got hot quickly!!!

Total success!!!  We will definitely be back next year!!!

Camps

This summer has been the year of the camps...my kids need to be busy and need a routine.  So first we started with VBS at our church.  It was amazing!!!

Next Jillian and Hadleigh rocked their dance recital!!!!

Next the older two enjoyed choir camp at our church!!  (I cannot find the pictures for this????)  They went all week and then had a show on Friday night and both kids had a solo and did a wonderful job!!!

Next up, cooking camp!!!  Cooking camp with chocolate!!!  I came to pick them up early every day so I could sample some of their baking!!!  Mmmm, mmm, mmmm, all their treats were delicious!!!

Next they went to another VBS at a church by their school and saw a lot of friends from school and they enjoyed that a lot.  Again, I can't find any pictures!

Then we took all the cousins to Kiddie Park.  This is a San Antonio institution.  We were lucky that on this particular day they had pony rides.  My kids have never been on a horse so we gave it a try.  They all liked it except Hadleigh.  But Bill coaxed her on and she seemed to like it by the end.

The favorite ride is the carousel.  Everybody thoroughly studies which horse they are going to ride.

Boat rides....

UFO rides....

Plane rides....

Car rides....

Channing got in on the action and rode the horse buggies...

Back to the carousel......

 Fun stuff!!

Port Aransas

Back on the last day of school, Bryan picked up the older kids from school in Grandpa's BIG truck!!!  They thought they were so cool!!!  So we headed down for some fun in Port A!!!

Picnic time with our cousins!!!

Swim time!!!

Back to the beach.....

9 months and failure

Again, I just skipped a couple of months and say hi to you at 9 months old.  Channing is a doll!  Everybody just loves her but she is a momma's girl.  She is in the middle of stranger anxiety and she ain't messin' around!!!  Even poor Grammie can't get her away from me most days!!  At church she is refusing to go in the nursery and if I leave her anyways, she screams bloody murder the entire time.  That is frustrating and makes me super worried for when she returns to daycare in August!  Things could get ugly!!!

But she is so cute!!  She weighs 18 pounds but is on the short side.  Her thighs have lots of rolls which is so fun.  She has 6 teeth - 4 on top and 2 on bottom.    One more bottom tooth has cut thru just this week.  She loves the water.  She loves getting in the pool and loves the splash pad.

Right now, I think she looks a lot like her brother.  She is crawling all over the place and even climbs quickly up the stairs.  Very scary!!!  She screams loud when she gets to the top because she cannot get down.  She is eating a lot of regular foods - blueberries is her favorite.  She also LOVES green beans and she and Roc can finish a whole can quickly!

I don't want to jinx it but she has started sleeping through the night!  YAY!!!!!!  I put her down at 7:30 and she sleeps to about 7:00.  Pretty darn awesome!!!

7 months

I don't know if baby # 4 will ever have a post on time.   The struggle is real.  I have 9 days left of school and I can barely function.   I am so tired.

But baby channing is a doll.  Pretty low maintenance still.  She has a serious side.  She is not one to just give away a smile.   She has started eating lots of baby food.  She loves squash,  sweet potatoes,  peas.  Once we switched from rice to oatmeal,  she has not stopped eating.   She is sitting up but still entertained in a bouncy seat.  She does not babble much like Hadleigh so something I am watching.   She is a mama's girl and often cries when I set her down.

Jillian is a huge helper.  Rocco loves Channing but can be very loud in her face which she does not like.  Hadleigh gives her little attention because this is Hadleigh's world.  But every night they all argue over who is going to sleep with her.  And they also argue over who gets to wake her up.  Angels and devils.  These kids.

Half a year

Mothering 4.  Mothering 4 is hard.  I am very busy!  Overwhelmed a lot of the time.  Don't even get me started on the morning rush before school and the witching hour of dinner.

But this little girl brings us a lot of joy!  She is 6 months old and such a sweet thing.  She still only has the two bottom teeth.  I just started her on food because of that whole overwhelmed thing.  But she ate oatmeal and squash tonight like a champ.  Of course after Hadleigh's struggles as a baby, I have been watching Channing like a hawk but she can sit up already but does fall over so you have to watch her!  The girl has some chubba-lubba which I just love!  I think she weighs about 17 lbs now.

She has turned into quite the Mommy's girl.  At church on Sunday, she was not having the nursery.  The ladies came hunting me down and as soon as they handed her over, she stopped crying.

The kids fight over who is going to wake her up in the morning, who is going to hold her first, who is going to pick up her outfit, etc.  They love their baby sister.

Now the comparison shots...

I think she still looks a lot like Jillian and Rocco.  When I was looking through the pictures, I thought Hadleigh looks a lot like Jillian when she was in her 2s and 3s so I guess they all just look alike.  They have the same DNA so it makes sense.  Ha!!
