21st

(Note to readers: blogging with 3 children has become incredibly difficult!!)

Hadleigh is so lucky. In her first three weeks of life, she has gotten to meet so many of her family members.
My cousin, Nikki, was in town from Missouri, and she and her sister, Shannon came and visited Hadleigh in the hospital.
One of the nurses asked me how many sisters I had. I told her only one but all of my cousins look quite alike. She could not believe how much we all looked alike.
Aunt Sherry came too of course.
Then we took Hadleigh to Devine. G.G. thought Hadleigh was beautiful. She introduced her to all of the folks in the restaurant as her 21st great-grandchild. Isn't that crazy??
Four generations....
Then down the road to Aunt Jalyne's house...
The timing was perfect because both of my cousins, Kim and Terri, had the day off of work so they hung out with Hadleigh too!!

Notice in all of the pictures, Hadleigh is sleeping. She doesn't let much stop her from sleeping!

Poor Rocco

Well, maybe this should be titled poor Mommy?? Rocco is having some trouble lately. I don't know whether it is the terrible 2s or the new baby. I am just not sure. Soooooooo instead of focusing on the spitting and the hitting and the tantrums, I am going to focus on what makes him so darn adorable.
Remember Hank Azaria in the Birdcage??? Rocco loves to dress up in Jillian's heels and help me clean. Isn't that helpful??
He also loves to make me some yummy dishes in the kitchen. AKA he loves taking the real cans from the pantry and stacking them as high as he can and watch them fall. Isn't that a swell game??
He loves brushing his teeth with Jillian's Tinkerbell toothbrush!
He has been doing soooo well at the Little Gym. His confidence to make big jumps and somersaults is growing everyday!!

And when he is in the middle of his worst tantrum at 5:00 in the morning, I have to focus on this picture and remember that behind his ugly 2 year old hit and spit combo is the SWEETEST, HELPFUL, LOVING, MOST HANDSOME boy any mommy could have.

11 days with 3 kids

Well, if you are wondering.......I am surviving..... but just barely! Blogging with 3 kids is virtually impossible but I am sure it will get easier with time!

B3 is a dream. She sleeps ALL of the time and so far, she has given her mother very little to worry about.

When you have baby #1, the world stops. You are able to focus and devote yourself to that baby. When baby #2 comes, the world does not stop but it seems to pause. You can give baby #2 attention while easily giving baby #1 some special time.
However, I am quickly learning with baby #3, the world definitely does NOT stop. Baby #1 and #2 are on the go and they have school and gymnastics and church and etc. Baby #3 just better catch a seat on that express train.
While I was trying to change the sheets on our bed, Jillian and Rocco dressed up like Sleeping Beauty and Prince Phillip. Well, with no official prince costume, this is the best we could come up with!

Have I mentioned how J&R are just obsessed to the 1000th degree with their little sister??? On many days, I can get all of them to nap together. This is them pretending to take a nap. Notice Rocco's phone??? This is actually how he really sleeps. Cracks me up!!!!

They always have to be THIS close to her. This is how it is all day. Poor Hadleigh will never know the meaning of personal space.

Jillian has taken the official role as "The Little Mommy." She takes this title VERY seriously. She LOVES her little sister. (again, notice lack of personal space)

In 11 short days, poor Haddy-Waddy has already had to go to the Doc twice. One for a regular check-up and one because of this yucky eye problem. Poor thing could not even open her eye! Doc says it is a blocked duct and should clear itself up by the time she is 6 months old and gave us med to clear up the eye.
Have you ever taken 3 kids to the doctor's office? That was my first major mistake as a mommy of 3. I learned my lesson and will not repeat mistake again!

What else?? My mom has come out of winter retirement and made a smashingly adorable Valentine dress for Jillian. Jillian rubbed it in at school to the other girls in her class that her "Grammie made this special dress for only her."

As a mommy, you find out you can do things that you never thought you could do. Yesterday, I took all 3 kids to church BY MYSELF. I will proudly announce that we got there on time!

Finally, I do not care what anyone says, but sisters in matching outfits are DA BOMB!! Really nothing can put me in a better mood that seeing these two looked so darned cute in their dress and bow perfection.

Introducing...

Hadleigh Savannah

She made her appearance on
Thursday, February 10, 2011
7 lbs 1 oz
20 inches long

Jillian ADORES her little sister (kind of too much if you know what I mean)!

Rocco is actually pretty interested in his little sister too! (anything that Jillian wants to do so does little brother)

And here we are....P party of 5!!! Or as Bryan likes to say "Starting Chapter No. 4 of our life together"

I call it...THE BUS

Here is our new ride. Isn't it ridiculously gi-normous!!! We had to have something that easily fit 3 (that's right - I said three) carseats!!! And really, it was not so simple as needing a third row because I really can't put Jillian or Rocco in the 3rd row because I would have to climb over (under or around) to fix their belts or let them out of the belts, etc.

I really needed something that easily fit 3 seats across. So voila!!! Since we installed it yesterday, you can see we easily fit two full-size toddler car seats and one infant seat. Hooray!!!

This however is going to be the problem...these two munchkins sitting next to each other. Just this morning we had 100 fights in a 20 minute time span.

Example:
"He's touching me!!!! " (said in hysterical scream)
"JillJill hihi" (yelling Jillian hit)
"He's making those funny noises" (in crying/whine combo)

We'll see how it goes!!! Surely they'll learn to love the closeness???
Side note: Jillian does not normally have such ruby red lips. This morning, we were acting out Sleeping Beauty in my bathroom and you know that Princess Aurora was blessed with lips as red as a rose so Jillian was true to the character and gave herself ruby red lips.

In the Land of Roc

Rocco's language lately has exploded. He is putting a ton of 2 and 3 word phrases together.

BUT

It is Rocco-style language. I call it double talk. Everything is said in Rocco-style double talk.

What is that you might ask?? Let me give you many examples.

The obvious list includes:
Mama
Dada
Papa
Meemee (Grammie)
Jiljil
Mama (can also refer to Mashur) (Poor sis will never be called by her given name but she seems to take it fully in stride and revels in her Mashur/mama status. Although she clearly displays jealously that Roc clearly says BillBill even if it is double talk)
Billbill
GG (great grandma)
Mel Mel (the dog)
no no (never just one no)

The not so obvious list includes:
wawa (water)
gaga (glasses)
caca (cold waffle)
cofcof (coffee)
sorsor (sorry)
baba (bath)

So the phrases I hear the most right now are:
Sorsor Mama or
Sorsor Jiljil
No No Jiljil

He does have some single words that will crack you up too like:
Gocco (Rocco)
lo you too! (love you too)
ice ceam (ice cream)
Cheese (Poor Papa Cheese has gotten cut to just the Cheese)
wof (his favorite 3 pigs villian)
Max
Ruby
boos coos (blues clues)

He is just saying the funniest things right now and it is the way he says everything in a certain tone and expression.

Totally random note: I had a parent of one of my ex-students (who I see all of the time) today ask me if I was pregnant. Cracks me up!!!! Ahhh, that would be a yes.

Misc. Thoughts

Most people are very excited today because it is Super Bowl Sunday but I could care less. Really, I would prefer if both teams lose. Being a die-hard Texas girl, I really wish both of these Northern teams would just beat each other with lots of career-ending injuries. Is that a lovely thought??
Last Tuesday night when this Arctic Blast blew in, I had no idea what was in store for me the next two days. The boiler/heater at my school exploded so on Wednesday and Thursday (the two coldest days of the year) my school had NO heat. Zip, zero, nada, nothing! It was awful!! I have not been sick one day of this pregnancy but after no heat for two days, I am now a snotty, sneezy, coughing mess! On Friday, God heard my prayers and sent just enough snow and ice to freak SA out and shut down all of the highways so there was no school on Friday. At least, I could enjoy the heat at my house!!!
I did not take one picture of the "snow" so I had to steal this from my Dad's camera. That is a tad of snow on the driveway and sidewalk. Since I had been freezing for the past two days, I had no interest in taking J & R out in the snow. What a Scrooge I am!!!!

What else? I went to the doc on Thursday and there is NO sign that labor is near!! All of her talk about 3rd babies coming early was HOGWASH!!!! I have not had a single contraction or any other sign that I am close. I guess I need to refocus on having patience. AND I am going to focus on the fact that it will sooner or later end. I cannot be preggo forever!!!

All of this waiting has given me time to order frivolous and ridiculous things off the internet. I ordered lots of matching bows and headbands for Jillian and B3. Here is Jillian modeling one of the monogrammed headbands I ordered.

Finally, I have introduced Roc to the potty. He walks around saying "Gocco's pot-pot" but very rarely goes near it. I had to BEG and PLEAD for him to sit on it so I could take this picture. Potty-training is obviously way in the future but at least he brags about having one.

So I am going to finish this entry by sneezing, wiping my nose and trying desperately to breathe, while not having any contractions or discomfort.
