Power Struggle

I already showed you how J and R have been fighting over the newly-discovered paci (which I have hidden away by the way).

There new fight is over the bouncy seat. You might be thinking, "What is there to fight over?" Aren't those kind of chairs meant for babies?"
Here is our "baby" showing her dominance of the P household and of Rocco's toys.
See the nanny-nanny-boo-boo face at poor Rocco??? I swear, we are really trying to work on her sweet and gentle nature.
And here's the other face. Mom, is she really sitting in my chair? What are you going to do about it? AND is she really wearing pink socks over her tights? Are you teaching her anything about fashion?
Yea, I was wondering that too, son!!!

10 months old

We have entered double digits!!! I cannot believe time is flying by so fast!!

Rocco's unbelievable weight gain and growth have finally leveled off. He is very active now and I think all of this moving around is finally burning off all of the calories he has been consuming!!!

Speaking of eating, well actually drinking, Rocco has finally decided that he will take a bottle. Actually 2 8 oz. bottles from his daycare teachers only. It only took him 10 months. Can you see the stubborness that I have to deal with???

His good eating has taken a slight detour. He no longer is really interested with the jars of baby food. He is wanting real food BUT he is not really open to trying new things. This is what he will eat....Cheerios, Cheerios, Cheerios with a small helping of Cheeze Its (guess from who? Poppy), yogurt, pancakes and noodles alfredo. What a diet!!!! We try everyday to get him to eat somethings a little more nutritional but so far, not interested. But we will keep trying.....

Otherwise, he is pulling up and standing without holding on to anything for about 5 seconds, but he has not taken any unassisted steps.

He said Da-Da weeks ago, but really doesn't say it with any regularity.
He and Jillian have really started to interact and play together. More accurately, Jillian tells him what to do and will drag him around until he does it. But it is still really fun to watch and see the potential of what they will be.
At 10 months, the photo shoot was realllllllly hard. He was like the Lord....everywhere.

Here he is standing!!

I tried to give him some cheese but that backfired as he spread it all over the floor.

Finally, I love this shot. There is something about it that is all boy. I can see the little boy that he will become and it is so darn sweet and adorable and stinkerish at the same time!!

New Trick

While sitting in his high chair, Rocco has started to perform a new trick. Everytime he does it, I just die laughing. He waves his arms like he just doesn't care, he crinkles his nose and this is the deal breaker, he snorts just like Mommy. It feels so good to pass down the important traits!!

Really, this might only be funny to the Mommy! But I will post it anyways. No, as I think about it more, it will be funny to everybody. Snorting is funny.

Day of Beauty

Sunday started out a little strange. Neither of my kids ever took a paci (especially Rocco)....but Jillian found one the other day and they have been fighting over it ever since. I guess this is the beginning of years and years of fighting over toys?

Jillian really likes the role of "baby."

Caught in the act!!! Sneaking away with it....

Then Jillian was allowed to play in Mommy's make-up but she always gets carried away!!

Since my pregnancy with Roc, I really stopped painting my nails and toe nails. But for a photo shoot this weekend, I decided to paint my nails and toe nails and Jillian has been obsessed with them. So if that is all it takes to make a girl happy......

Nails by Ashley!!!

(AND I can hear ya'll now? What is that Ashley? Gone goth?? It is not black. It is chocolate and I had a chocolate and blue photo shoot and my nails looked perfect. Wink, wink)

Rocco was excited that I didn't do his nails!!

Finally, Jillian has now morphed into Little Miss Teacher!!! She sits all of her babies and bears in a circle (like they do at school) and she reads them a book. It is quite hilarious to watch!!! She has memorized a LOT of books and is working dilligently on teaching the bears to read.

This is her bear posse....orange, red, white and pink. She is holding a new "ghost" bear.

I asked her which one is her favorite and can you take a wild guess???
Pink of course. The apple does not fall far from the tree!!!

Temperature

October 2009

November 2007
Look at those faces!! Don't you just want to eat 'em up!!!
Don't have a lot to say today....Rocco woke up at 3:30 this morning and he is really tough to get to go back down. He'll go but you got to work! And who wants to work that hard at 3:30 in the morning. Grrrr! Jillian did not sleep through the night until she was a year old but I don't remember her being so difficult to get to go back down. Did I repress those memories??
I will share with you a great quote I heard in my MOPS meeting at church this week. We were discussing sleep deprivation and how hard it is to be in a good mood all day when you start out sooo tired in the first place. (I was also reminded to always be thankful for what you've got as another Mommy friend has 10 month old twins that are waking up two times a night. She is more tired than me!) Anyways, our wise mentor mommy told us, "Always remember that as the Mommy, you set the temperature in your house. Your little ones will gladly match your temperature and follow your lead."
Soooooooooo, even though I was dog tired this morning, I tried really hard to set the "temperature" in my house this morning to make it a great day. I would say that it worked. Jillian was not happy this morning and did not like what I picked for her to wear but I distracted her with the fog outside and she thought it was hysterical. She wanted to know why it was so "soggy" outside??
Happy Friday!!!

Jillian's Room

The finished project!!! YAY!!!!

Did I show ya'll a picture of Jillian's room now that it is all done?? It turned out pretty darn cute if I do say so myself.
But nothing is done in my house without total drama. I had ordered said bedding back in June. Comp@ny.Kids advised that the blue gingham sheet was on backorder. Ok no problem, I ordered it anyways b/c I had a vision.
Well, 3 phone calls and 3 months later, I get a letter in the mail that CK has discontinued the blue gingham sheet. WHAT??? Don't they know that this messes up my whole theme in JP's room?? Grrrr!!!! After I threw a huge tantrum and Bryan rolled his eyes at least 10 times, I got a hold of myself and found a new vision. Polka Dots...... After several minutes of research, CK had both the pink and blue polka dot flat sheet in stock.

The quilts on the wall are gifts from my mom. The afgans on the end of the beds are blankets made for me when I was a baby. My mom kept them in awesome condition.

Now I need a new house project.......what's it going to be???

Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween from Little Bo Peep and her sheep!!!!

Little Bo Peep was really using her acting skills and showing us how sad LBP was when she lost her sheep. She is such a good actress and no matter what we did, she stayed in character. (After all of the hype, she really did not like her costume. It wasn't itchy inside but she did not like the feeling in the arms. I literally had to wrestle her into the costume. On Sunday, she told me, "Mommy, I am NOT wearing my costume to church!!")

The sheep loved his costume. His was lined in satin and he just grinned the whole evening.

Here is our cousin crew. Gavin was a fisherman, Katie was a princess and Roy was a chopper monster??

Jillian and Gavin wanted to ride at first but then LBP finally got into it!!!

It lasted about 3 houses and then she fell and wanted to be carried the rest of the way. Since the big kids abandoned the wagons, Rocco had a ball watching all of the trick-or-treaters and playing with Gavin's "fishing pole."
