Mother's Day

Mother's Day is fast becoming one of my favorite "holidays." AND not for what you think I will say b/c trust me, (as most of you moms know) it is NOT about me. As cheesy as this is going to sound, having my own kids makes me appreciate my mom so much more and I just love the opportunity it gives me to show my love for my two adorable kiddos.

On Saturday, Jillian is big time into "helping" Mommy. She loves acting like Cinderella so I put that girl to work.

Here she is sweeping

and helping with the laundry.

Then Sunday morning I woke up to two lovely cards - one from Bryan and one from the kids...(I am seriously so in love with the Children's Pl@ce and their matching boy/girl jammies. LOVE them!!!)

Everybody got showered so we could go to church. I took this picture so you could see how my 3 month old son is almost as big as my 2 year old daughter. Geez!!!!

Then we got ready for church.....and let me let you in on a little secret. Yesterday was actually very hard. The kids were NOT cooperating. Both of them did not sleep well Saturday night and they both woke up with snotty noses. Jillian was being Sassy with a capital S and Rocco was unusually cry-ey. So it made getting ready for church excruitatingly painful. However, here are the good shots.

Me and Jillian Avery

Me and Rocco Harrison

This is Jillian throwing her mini-tantrum. "She doesn't want to sit next to Rocco." "She doesn't want to smile." You get the picture.

After she received some bribery aka M&Ms, all smiles again but now Rocco would not smile. Ahhhh!!!! (p.s. before the post is done - I have already had several people ask about their matching outfits and I got them through a catalog called CWDKids.)

So then Rocco started crying and he is not interested in M&Ms, so I gave him what he needed......and

And finally, the best it was going to get yesterday. Cheesy smile from Jillian? Check. Deer in the headlights look from Rocco? Check. Gotta love them!!!!

Finally, thank you to the big B for taking allllllll of these photos and doing his darnedest to get these kiddos to smile. Thanks love.

Correction

We just heard the official word that "the powers that be" granted our waiver for missing 8 days of school. This means that we still get to take the Memorial Day Holiday!!!

So we now have 18 days until the real summer break!!!!!!

But who's counting??????

I am off to make 21 Mother's Day cards and gifts before the bell rings at 3:00 p.m. Wish me luck!!!!

Back to School

The powers that be met with our school district and said this flu situation is not as bad as originally thought and is not spreading as quickly so they ordered us back to school.

My district acted as quickly as possible and here I am sitting at my desk.

The kids are being really good considering the circumstances. All they can talk about is missing the zoo field trip.

20 days left until the "real" summer break.

Pool Time Already???

We might be jumping the gun a little, but all of the hot temperatures gave Mommy the idea that we might be ready for the pool.

Jillian took off with the idea and ran with it and put her swimsuit on immediately. Grammie got her one with the disney princesses that she loves.

This summer, now that I will be taking care of 2 kids, I decided it was necessary for Jillian to wear some sort of safety device. A water accident is one of my worst fears. I found this cute device at wally-world.

So we jumped in and boy, was.it.cold!!!! Look at the expression on my face!!!

What a cute picture you might be thinking......in reality, I am clinging to her, trying to share body heat!!

Finally, Rocco looked like a stud in his swimsuit but Mommy took mercy on him and did not drag him into the pool. He got to watch from poolside in the shade.

Sugar

We went to a birthday party on Sunday that had a petting zoo come to the party. Very fancy, huh?? Jillian loved all of the animals and really enjoyed getting to feed the animals.

She liked petting the bunnies and guinea pigs.

Then they let her go in the pen. She loved it!

She also liked feeding the goats although strangely they did not seem hungry. I thought goats were always hungry.

The best part was that Jillian got to go on her first pony ride. She was very hesitant at first but then she saw all of her friends do it and that gave her confidence to ride the white pony named Sugar.

100th Post

I noticed blogspot said this was my 100th post and cannot believe I have had 100 things to say!!!
Today's topic: Denial
For several weeks now, Rocco's clothes have been getting tighter and tighter but I ignored it and ignored it and ignored it. I could NOT admit that my three month old son cannot fit into 3-6 mos clothes. BUT yesterday when I took off his clothes to put on his jammies and there were red marks on his skin because his outift was too tight, I said enough is enough.

So he is officially into 6-9 mos clothes. Geez, where is my little baby going?? Look at those chunky thighs!!!

The best smile ever!!!!

Otherwise, this is week 2 day 1 of the swine flu vacation. Jillian has been busy playing dress up. Dressing up with what you might ask??

She found an outfit that someone had made for me when I was born. I tried to explain to her that it is an antique but she doesn't get it.
This is her tying the booties.

Her new cheesy grin....

Finally, it is easy to figure out why Rocco is having a hard time napping. Poor Jillian, she just cannot stand it when Rocco gets to do something she cannot do. She hated the bassinet when it was her turn but now the bassinet is her favorite place to be. (Sometimes blogger rotates my pictures and I cannot figure out why??)

The verdict is in...

My district will officially announce tomorrow that school is canceled for another week. My district has more flu cases than any other district in the state.

Poppy has already made golf plans since he doesn't have to watch the kiddos.
